Joe Herrera Quintana (1915-1991) is considered by many to be
one of the true master silversmiths of the 20th century. Learning
metal work during WWII, after the war he returned to his home in the Cochiti Pueblo and began
his career in jewelry making. He apprenticed with well-known jeweler Frank
Patania and worked in a number of shops in both Santa Fe and Albuquerque NM.
This recognizable designs is one of the collector’s
favorites, with the raised center Repousee, finely detailed stamping and
precise wire work. The perfect size for either a man or woman and can be worn
within most Levi pant loops. A beautiful satin patina graces each and every
concho, with just the slightest of ware on the silver. Each of the 10 Conchos
measure 2 1/4" long x 1 3/4" wide, and the buckle measures 2
3/4" x 2 1/2". The leather currently is 40" long. Hallmarked
