Truly an amazing piece of art, by Zuni artist Elliot Qualo, who is considered one of the best stone to stone inlay artist from Zuni. This fascinating concho belt features 12 very different fetishes including a gorgeous buckle. Each fetish is raised above the background, with impeccable inlay of Mother of Pearl, clam shell, yellow lip shell, Turquoise, jet, abalone shell, coral and pin shell.

Each fetish has an offering bundle with hand carved arrow heads. Some on the side and some visible on the backs of the fetishes. Many of the design elements are also raised inlay. We see bears, birds, sheep, frogs and other figures only Elliot knows. Look closely and you will see the amazing details. A lovely silver border adds the final touch to the outer frame design. His brief career only lasted from the 1960's to 1979. One of a kind piece!

The buckle measuring 2 3/4" long by 2 1/4 tall" and the concho's measuring 2 1/4" in diameter. The custom leather belt measures 34 1/2" long and 35 1/2 with the buckle extending from the end of the leather. Note: There is some wear on the leather belt, but it is still good for wearing.
