Description

This lovely sandcast bracelet is handmade, Navajo work, un-signed. Date of creation 1960's. The Navajo were the first of the Native Americans of the Southwest to learn silver smithing from the Spanish. Most Navajo jewelry emphasizes silver, with turquoise stones used as an accent. Some pieces are cast in sand or tufa molds, while others are hammered and then hand stamped. The artist used a high grade, Natural Persian Turquoise cabochon that has a beautiful black webbed matrix and set it in a hand crafted smooth bezel and measures 7/16" wide by 3/4" long. This beautiful bracelet measures 1" across the top with the inside measurement of 5" plus a 1" gap.
