This beautiful Tyrone cab measures 11.8mm x 15.4mm x 4.6mm thickness. The WEIGHT 6.3 carats. The color is a soft sky blue with a reddish/brown spider webbed matrix. The stone is backed.

Turquoise from the Tyrone mine was associated with the copper mine operations southwest of Silver City, New Mexico. That mine is currently owned by Freeport McMoRan. However, turquoise has not been retrieved from that mining operation since the early 1980's when the method of copper ore processing changed dramatically. Color ranges from deep vivid blue to lighter sky blue with most often a black or red/brown matrix. Rare and highly collectable.
