A fabulous all turquoise cluster bracelet by famed Zuni silversmith and lapidarian Dan Simplicio. Simplicio worked for C.G. Wallace at his trading post in Zuni, NM for many years. Simplicio was the first to use branch coral in its natural form and the first to set rough-cut coral nuggets on rings. This bracelet, while not signed, has all the earmarks of Simplicio's work, notably the single cast loop shank and the natural eccentric shaped turquoise stones. This lovely piece is set with both Natural Blue Gem and Natural Morenci turquoise cabochons. The stones are accented with wonderful curved and coiled elements that are stamped, along with a center twist wire frame and silver drops. Circa: 1940's.
The bracelet measure 2 1/8" across the top, with an inside measurement of 5 1/2" with a 1" opening. Slightly adjustable.
Dan's work is cited in every major publication chronicling 20th century Zuni jewelers.
