An early 1965 inlaid bolo tie by well-known Zuni artist Dennis Edaakie. Often working with his wife Nancy, their exquisite workmanship is considered among the best stone-to-stone inlay of all time. Dennis and Nancy are most well-known for their beautiful bird images, which they began producing in the early 60's. This outstanding Bolo features a beautiful Cardinal, with the central image inlaid with red coral and black jet. Accents of coral berries, rainbow abalone shell leaves, framed with a pin shell design. All stones are precisely set in a silver background. Please take note of the fine features of the bird. The bolo measures 2 3/8" long by 2 1/4" wide, tapering to 1 1/2", with 2 1/4" silver bolo tips.
